Awestruck
I was doing something for school tonight that required a USB. So, I found one on my desk and plopped it into the computer. Little did I know that this was the SAME EXACT USB drive I had used for an old fifth grade project. The project was to make a powerpoint presentation using hyperlinks to make one of the choose-your-own-adventure story lines. So, reminiscent person that I am, I decided to go on the powerpoint and read my story through, finding every possible ending, just to remember what my mind was like.
Wow.
I had NO IDEA that I was that awesome when I was, what, twelve? My writing technique wasn't that great, but the plot line...! It was crazy! I had almost every plot line except romance and horror. It was really fun to go back and read it.
*SIDE NOTE*
Today is the first International Day of the Girl! Today, we observe the challenges girls face when trying to reach a successful adulthood. The theme of this year is "Ending Child Marriage", which, as the United Nations puts it, is "a phenomenon that violates millions of girls' rights, disrupts their education, jeopardizes their health, and denies them their childhood, limiting their opportunities and impacting all aspects of a girl's life"
FACT: In developing countries, one girl in seven is married by the age of 15.(GirlEffect.org)
How scary is that? Think about you now. Where would you be if you were one of those seven girls? How scary would your life be? Be thankful to be where you are.
